Mounting the ST400-C339 valve to the air tank (Overview)
- Fit the O-ring supplied with the flange fitting onto the valve housing.
- Mount the valve to the tank with the ST400-16 flange assembly, with the air flow arrow pointing toward the starter.
- Tighten the four flange bolts to 35-45 ft-lb (47-61 Nm).
An outline only. Follow the full procedure, torque values and safety warnings in the document (from page 3).
Fitting a tune-up kit (Overview)
- With the coil electrically isolated, unplug the Packard connector and remove the four M8 bolts and the valve bonnet.
- Take out the old bladder, spring, non-return end cap assembly and its O-ring, noting how each part was oriented.
- Install the new bladder and spring in the same orientation as the parts removed.
- Refit the bonnet without changing its orientation and tighten the four bolts evenly to 16 ft-lb (24 Nm).
- Refit the non-return spring, assembly and O-ring, then tighten the end cap to 16 ft-lb (24 Nm).
- Reassemble coil and label, tighten the M8 nut to 15 ft-lb (22 Nm), reconnect the ST400-950P connector and check for leaks.
An outline only. Follow the full procedure, torque values and safety warnings in the document (from page 3).
